NWMO AHEC History
Established in 1996, the Northwest Missouri AHEC is part of the Missouri Area Health Education Center system, which consists of six other regional centers covering all counties in Missouri, and three program offices, AT Still University/ Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine in Columbia and St. Louis University. The NWMO AHEC is hosted locally by Heartland Health, and is supported by federal, state and local funding.
