AHEC - Communities to Better Health


M*A*S*H Camp

NWMO AHEC works in partnership with local communities to sponsor annual science and health camps for middle school students.

Goals for M*A*S*H camps include:

  • providing "hands-on" experiences to students interested in health care and science occupations;
  • exposing students to a variety of careers in the science and health field; and
  • providing students with a fun and interesting experience during the summer.

Continuing Education

Northwest Missouri AHEC provides continuing education for health professionals primarily through videoconferences broadcast from other sites. If you would like to receive information about these continuing education offerings, please email us at nwmoahec@heartland-health.com

Health Literacy

Health Literacy is defined as the degree to which individuals have the capacity to obtain, process, and understand basic health information and services needed to make appropriate health decisions (Source: Institute of Medicine).
