Orientation & Continuing Education
We offer nurses a comprehensive, individualized Nursing Orientation. It consists of a six-day classroom orientation and a two to ten week (based on experience, ability and job setting) unit-based orientation. In specialty areas, orientation lasts up to six months. Orientation is geared specifically to each nurse's experience level and learning needs. Each new nurse is mentored by an RN preceptor, who reviews your responsibilities and assesses your needs.
Our tuition reimbursement plan makes it possible for you to continue to improve your skills and reach your career goals. A Bachelor’s degree RN program is offered at Missouri Western State University here in St. Joseph. We also offer a wide range of ongoing onsite workshops and in-service programs to enhance your skills and knowledge.
